1. Scope

This Cookie Policy applies to the SpanishPropertyTaxes website and to public and private pages under its main domain. The purpose is to clearly inform users about the use of cookies and equivalent technologies, in compliance with applicable information society and data protection regulations.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. It allows information to be remembered between visits.

Along with cookies, similar technologies (such as local storage) may be used to perform equivalent technical identification or preference persistence functions.

3. Cookie types

Cookies can be classified according to different criteria:

  • By manager: first-party cookies (managed by SpanishPropertyTaxes) and third-party cookies (managed by external providers).
  • By purpose: technical or functional, analytics/measurement, and advertising or marketing cookies.
  • By duration: session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (kept for a defined period).

At the current stage of this project, we mainly use technical or functional cookies necessary to enable functionalities explicitly requested by the user.

4. Cookies used on this site

The following table describes the first-party cookie identified in this web application in this version.

Name Owner Type Purpose Duration
spt_refSpanishPropertyTaxes Technical / functional Stores the referral code (ref parameter) so it can be applied later during registration or payment. Persistent, 90 days

This cookie is set with site-wide path scope and a SameSite policy to protect the technical flow of purchase/payment and referral discount application.

5. Third-party services

In some flows, external providers integrated in the platform may intervene. These providers may use their own cookies or equivalent technologies under their own domains and policies.

  • Stripe: payment infrastructure provider. It may intervene during tokenization, strong customer authentication (SCA/3DS), and transaction confirmation.
  • Federated authentication providers (for example Google when the user chooses that sign-in method): they may set technical and security cookies required by the identity service.

You can consult Stripe's privacy policy at: https://stripe.com/privacy

6. Legal basis

Technical cookies necessary to provide the requested service are used on the basis of legitimate interest and/or technical necessity of the service. Their use is essential to execute functions requested by the user (for example, keeping referral or payment flows working).

If non-essential cookies (advanced analytics, personalization, or marketing) are introduced in the future, prior consent mechanisms will be enabled in accordance with applicable regulations.

7. Data retention

Retention period depends on each cookie and its purpose. For the currently identified first-party cookie (spt_ref), the period is 90 days from creation or update.

After that period, the cookie stops being effective unless it is set again by a new functional event (for example, a new visit with a referral parameter).

8. How to manage or disable cookies

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Please note that if you disable technical cookies, some functionalities (for example referral application) may not work correctly.

Cookie management can be done from each browser settings. Main browsers usually offer options to:

  • Delete stored cookies.
  • Block third-party cookies.
  • Block all cookies.
  • Set exceptions by website.

9. Policy updates

This policy may be updated due to regulatory, technical, or functional changes in the website. We recommend reviewing it periodically to know the current status of cookies and related services.

10. Rights and contact

For information about personal data processing and exercising your rights, please read our Privacy Policy and our Legal Notice .
